Stateline Boys & Girls Clubs
Beloit, WI & South Beloit IL

Dear Supporters

Fall is upon us and that brings a lot of excitement around our clubs. You will see from the pictures in this newsletter that our clubs are not only fun for our kids, but also our staff. Sometimes I think they have more fun than the kids.
October brings the beginning of fall. As seasons change, we are reminded of the changing needs of the kids of our community. Now more than ever, our kids need us. I remind myself that every day I see those kids come streaming through the doors of our clubs. I also think to myself how blessed I truly am to be able to work with such amazing people every day who are truly changing the lives of our kids. This is all made possible by the support of all of you. We thank you for that and hope you enjoy this issue!

Thanks for all you do,

Dare to Dream

The Second Annual Dare to Dream Event, featuring SSG Travis Mills, took place on October 18, 2018 with the Eclipse Center full of students, veterans and community members. SSG Travis Mills is one of five surviving quadruple amputees who served in our military. The main event included Travis’ inspirational message “Never give up, Never quit”. Travis kept the attention of his audience through his use of humor and his down to earth approach to telling his story. He is truly an amazing individual who shares his story in order to make a difference in other people’s lives. The event also included entertainment provided by The PennyMae Dixon Band, Best of Beloit snacks and a student copy of the book “Tough as They Come”. One can only wonder how we will continue with such an inspirational message for the Third Annual Dare to Dream Event, stay tuned.
