Volunteer
Make a difference
Contributing your time is a powerful way to support the youth in your community.
Just a few hours a week can have a tremendous impact on a child’s life. We count on volunteers to help us carry out our mission by offering quality programs, creating meaningful relationships, and inspiring young people to reach their full potential. Our Clubs offer opportunities for adults to work directly with youth as homework helpers and tutors, activities assistants, and mentors.
There are many ways to get involved at every level of our organization. We are flexible and strive to match you with an opportunity that fits your skills, interests, and availability.
Depending on location, our Clubs are open from 2:30pm to 6:30pm, Monday through Friday. All individual volunteer opportunities listed below are available within that time frame.
To volunteer directly with youth, you MUST:
These commitments are very important to us. We need volunteers who will give the youth the stability and familiarity that is essential to making an impact. We do not currently have “drop-in” volunteer opportunities working with youth.
If you feel you can commit to this, then we would love to have you join our volunteer team!
Step 1: Check out our available volunteer opportunities.
Step 2: Submit a volunteer application online or in person at one of our Clubs.
Step 3: Submit a background check. Our children’s safety is our number one priority. For the safety of our youth, all volunteers are required to submit a background check (criminal history and sex offender registry) before being approved. Please complete the Volunteer Application to receive a link to our background check form.
Step 4: Get matched. Once approved, our Volunteer Coordinator will connect you with your preferred site’s Youth and Family Services Coordinator, who will lead you through the orientation process. Generally, volunteers are approved in 1-2 weeks, depending on background check and orientation schedule.
Choose the type of volunteer opportunity you’re interested in.
We are looking for individual volunteers, at least 18 years old, to make an ongoing commitment to help out in the Clubs at least one day every week for a minimum for 10 weeks.
Homework Help
Nurturing a positive and supportive learning environment is extremely important to us. Power Hour, our after-school homework help program for 1st-5th graders, is always in need of volunteers to help members with their homework. For those members in need of extra or more personalized educational assistance, one-on one tutoring opportunities exist.
Activity Aid
Support our staff in running fun and engaging programs in our gym, art room, and computer lab. Activity Aids enable us to facilitate small group exploration, empowering our youth to get the most out of each activity.
